Lesson Plan of Presidents and Symbols

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.    Joshua 1:6-7

We will be using various strategies and activities for our sons to gain an understanding of the importance of four past presidents and the current president. Hopefully they will be able to gain knowledge about the significance of these men to our national history. They also will be learning to identify national symbols that are important to our country.

I am planning on taking the boys to the Minnesota History Center for a field trip (thanks to another free pass through the library). Maybe I can work in a President's Day parade?

Here is a free copy of this month's lesson plan for President's Day that we will be using. (pdf format)
